Defender, Discovery, Motorhome – Before n After rustproofing

Classification: c) Over 10 years old but very clean for age. Not expected to need re-treatment under the guarantee.
This is a low mileage truck that has been very carefully looked after. Each year the owner has treated any visible corrosion. Unfortunately he has used the wrong technique. He has used a rust convertor, then red oxide then hammerite. He would have done much better just using hammerite. Red oxide paint has no anti-corrosive properties whatsoever. Red oxide is a "decorative" pigment and see my page on rust convertors. (They don't work!) Because it's low mileage and my pressure washer did not abrade off the owner's treatment - in spite of my misgivings I have given it a c) rather than f) for "molestation".
